How to Add, Edit, and Delete WordPress Tags for Better SEO
Adding WordPress tags means attaching or including small pieces of information to content or to the posts on WordPress. Tagging is important for the motive of identification if the tag is attached properly. Steps are as follows to add tags.
Step 1:
Click on the posts, a new heading of Tag will open which is shown on the dashboard.
The tag page will be opened which is shown as under:
Following headings will be explained as under.
Name:Write a relevant or specific Tag after carefully mentioning the tag.
Slug:A specific word that is used to describe the post. To specify the page or post, this word is used after backlash/ at the end of the URL.
Description: You can write the details or description of your tag. It will be shown when you put the cursor on the tag.
Step 3:When you have created a new tag. It will be shown on the right side of the page as shown under.
Edit WordPress Tags for Improved SEO
In this section, you will get to know how toedit WordPress tagscreated in the “Add Categories” section.
Following steps should be followed for editing the category.
Step 1:
Click on the posts, a new heading of category will open which is shown on the dashboard.
Step 2:When your saved posts are displayed on the Dashboard, there is a button hover on the posts named as edit the tag. There are two options of edit, simple edit or quick edit. Click on the edit button.
Edit:You can click on the edit button to edit the tag as shown under.
After editing the required option, you can use the update button to save the changes.
Quick Edit:You can click on the quick edit button as well. In this option, you can merely edit the name or slug of the tag. Then you can save the changes by clicking on the update tag button as shown under.
Delete tags
Here we are going to learn how the tags are deleted on wordpress.
Following are the steps which you should follow.
Step 1:Click on the posts, a new heading of tags will open which is shown on the dashboard.
Step 2:When your saved tags are displayed on the Dashboard under the tag name, there is a button hover on the tag named as trash the tags. Due to some reason, if you want to delete the tag, just click on trash the tag button. Your tag will be deleted after confirming whether you want to delete the tag or not. After clicking on yes, the tag will be deleted permanently as shown in the following picture.
