WordPress Pages

Learn how to add, edit, and manage WordPress pages effectively with ClanTop's step-by-step guide.

WordPress pages are usually the same as adding posts to the WordPress. The only difference is, the adding pages are static or permanent and the displayed detail on the page cannot be changed.

Add WordPress pages

Following are the steps to add a page to the WordPress.

Step 1: Click on the pages, a new heading of add New will open which is shown on the dashboard.

Step 2:when you click on add new heading, you will acquire a new page named as editor page as shown in the picture. This editor page has two tabs, visual tab and text tabs. You can add text in either of the options. We will learn how to add text in visual format.

On the editor page, there are different headings, we will discuss these heading in detail as under.

Title:This heading is used to add title to the posts or article. This title is then displayed on the page. Permalink displays the predicted URL for the page under the title of the article. Afterwards, the URL is usually produced according to the title given to the article.

WYSIWYG Editor

WYSIWYG Editor (What You See Is What You Get) is similar to a word processor interface. You can learn more about it from Wikipedia’s WYSIWYG explanation.

This word processor interface allows you to edit the content of the article.

Following are the details present in this editor.

Bold Button:This button is used to highlight or bold the font of text. 

Italic:The font is italicized, when required press the italic button.

Word Strike:It is used to strike the words through the content.

Bullet List:It is used to Add bullets to describe features or advantages of the content.

Number List: It is used to include numbers.

Blockquote:When you want to quote the text, you usually use this button.

Horizontal Line: It is used to draw a horizontal line between sentences or content.

Left Align:When you want to arrange the content on the left side of the page, you use this button.

Right Align:When you want to arrange the content on the right side of the page, you use this button.

Justify:When you want to justify the content, you use this button. 

Add Link: When you want another detail to the content, you add a link for further detailed information. 

Following details present in the editor page.

URL: Write the URL that you want to link to the article.

Link text: Add text you wish to include into the link.

Open link in a new window/tab:When you want to open the page which you have linked, just tick or check the box, a new tab or window will open.

Or link to an existing account: you can link the existing page by clicking on the optional pages list. 

You will have another list of toolbar when clicking on toolbar toggle.

Paragraph: Choose the headings from the dropdown button.

Underline:Underline the special sentences to highlight the special heading or text.

Justify:When you want to justify the content, you use this button.

Text Color: You can choose color for your sentences or words for appealing purposes.

Paste as Text: When you have copied text or image from somewhere, you can Paste your text.

Clear Formatting: you can delete your formatting.

Special character: Add special character required for your text as shown under.

Page attributes:In page attributes, you are allowed to pick parents of specific pages. You can also arrange them in order as shown under.

Parent:It permits you to choose the parent page.

Order:you can also arrange them in order by giving them numbers.

Publish WordPress pages 

When you have checked the WordPress pages and it fulfills the requirements, then the page is ready to publish. Publish a page means it is ready to be available to the users.  It can be viewed by every user after publishing. It is an easy way to publish the page. By following the under mentioned steps, an admin can publish the page.

Step 1: Click on the page, a new heading of add New will open which is shown on the dashboard.

Step 2:when you click on add new heading, you will acquire a new page named as editor page as shown in the picture. If you want to add new content or information to the page, you usually use WordPress WYSIWYG editor.

Step3: To publish the page, click on publish button as shown under.

 After clicking on the publish button, it is now published and every user can view it.

Edit page

In this section, you will know how to edit a page on WordPress.

One should follow the following steps to edit the page.

Step 1:When you have published the page in the add page section, if you want to have some changes in the page. You can see About us heading. 

Step 2:when your saved pages are displayed on the Dashboard, there is a button hover on the pages under About us heading. There are two options of edit, simple edit or quick edit. Click on the edit button. Following screen will be shown.

After editing the content or title of the page, you can press the update button after having changes in your content or title.

Quick Edit:

In quick edit, you can change the title, slug or date of the about us page. You can also add the parent page as shown under. Then click on the update button.

Delete pages

If an admin wants to delete the page, following steps should be followed to delete the page.

Step 1: click on the page, a new heading of all pages will open which is shown on the dashboard.

Step 2: You can delete the page which you have published due to any reason. When the cursor hovers on pages, then several options will open below the page. Press the trash button to delete the page.

There is another option of deleting the page directly, when you are adding or editing the page, there is an option on that page, trash the page. You can press the trash button to delete the page.Post
